The Significance of the day is to create awareness of issues facing girls internationally, such as education, nutrition, forced child marriage, legal rights, and medical rights.<\/p>\n<h2>Objectives Of International Day of the Girl Child<\/h2>\n<p><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/aviancetechnologies.com\/blog\/international-day-of-the-girl-child-2020-date-objectives-history-and-theme\/\">International Day of the Girl Child<\/a><\/em><\/strong> is an international observance day declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl. The First Day of the Girl Child was on <strong><em>October 11, 2012<\/em><\/strong>. The main objectives Of International Day of the Girl Child are:<\/p>\n<p>1. To spread awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by girls in the country.<br \/>\n2. To promote awareness about the rights of a girl child.<br \/>\n3. To increase awareness on the importance of girl education, health, and nutrition.<br \/>\n4. To increase awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide.<br \/>\n5. To stop violence against women and child marriage.<\/p>\n<h2>International Day of the Girl Child 2020 Theme<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>International Day of the Girl Child 2020 Theme is <em><strong>&#8220;My voice, our equal future&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>. The theme focuses on the opportunity to mobilize global action to achieve gender equality and the human rights of all women and girls.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>International Day of the Girl Child: History<\/h2>\n<p>In 1995, the World Conference on Women was held in Beijing to recognize the human rights of women and girls. The Beijing Declaration is the first to specifically call out girls&#8217; rights.<\/p>\n<p>On December 19, 2011, United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 66\/170 to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child, to recognize girls\u2019 rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The International Day of the Girl Child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls&#8217; empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.
