It is the focus of <a href=\"https:\/\/aviancetechnologies.com\/blog\/world-alzheimers-day-2020-history-theme-and-facts\/\"><strong><em>World Alzheimer&#8217;s Month<\/em><\/strong> <\/a>during the month of September to raise awareness and highlight issues faced by people affected by dementia. It is an opportunity for people and organizations to demonstrate how we can overcome these issues and help people live well with dementia.<\/p>\n<h2>History Of World Alzheimer\u2019s Day<\/h2>\n<p>World Alzheimer&#8217;s Month is the international campaign every September to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. September 2020 will mark the 9th World Alzheimer&#8217;s Month. The campaign was launched in 2012. World Alzheimer&#8217;s Day is on 21 September each year.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aviancetechnologies.com\/blog\/world-alzheimers-day-2020-history-theme-and-facts\/\">Alzheimer&#8217;s disease<\/a><\/strong><\/em> is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other major mental functions. The Brain cell connections and the cells themselves deteriorate and die, finally destroying memory and other mental functions. Memory loss and confusion are the main symptoms.<br \/>\nNo cure exists, but medication and management strategies may temporarily improve symptoms.<\/p>\n<h2>7 Stages of Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease<\/h2>\n<p>Stage 1: No Impairment.<br \/>\nStage 2: Very Mild Decline.<br \/>\nStage 3: Mild Decline.<br \/>\nStage 4: Moderate Decline.<br \/>\nStage 5: Moderately Severe Decline.<br \/>\nStage 6: Severe Decline.<br \/>\nStages 7: Very Severe Decline.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Dementia<\/h2>\n<p>Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior, and the ability to perform daily activities. Dementia is a group of conditions characterized by impairment of at least two brain functions, such as memory loss and judgment. Symptoms include forgetfulness, limited social skills, and thinking abilities so impaired that it interferes with daily functioning. As per Medical Science, Dementia mainly affects older people, it is not a normal part of aging. Worldwide, around 50 million people have Dementia, and around 10 million new cases every year.
