Renduchintala\u2019s group, TSCG, will be broken up in five pieces, each reporting directly to Intel CEO Bob Swan.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technology Development, led by Dr. Ann Kelleher<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing and Operations, led by Keyvan Esfarjani<\/li>\n<li>Design Engineering, led in the interim by Josh Walden<\/li>\n<li>Architecture, Software and Graphics will continue to be led by Raja Koduri<\/li>\n<li>Supply Chain will continue to be led by Dr. Randhir Thakur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to working directly with these talented and experienced technology leaders, each of whom is committed to driving Intel forward during this period of critical execution,\u201d Swan said in a release. \u201cI also want to thank Murthy for his leadership in helping Intel transform our technology platform. We have the most diverse portfolio of leadership products in our history and, as a result of our six pillars of innovation and disaggregation strategy, much more flexibility in how we build, package and deliver those products for our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t long ago that Renduchintala was joined by other Intel brass, including famed former AMD chip architect Jim Keller, at the home of Intel founder Robert Noyce to announce that a corner had been turned. Keller, himself, resigned abruptly from Intel after a two year stint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have some humble pie to eat,\u201d Renduchintala said of its delayed 10nm process in late 2018. \u201cAnd we\u2019re eating it.\u00a0But I think that doesn\u2019t in any way, shape, or form diminish my confidence that we have an arsenal of real competitive performance as we look down the next few years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nearly two years later the situation doesn\u2019t look any better though. On Friday, Intel shocked many by saying its 7nm process would be delayed 12 months and the company would consider outsourcing or partnering on manufacturing. To top it off, for the first time,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/amd-stock-price-closes-above-intels-as-next-gen-chip-saga-takes-surprise-turn-2020-07-24\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"> AMD\u2019s stock price closed higher than Intel\u2019s.<\/a> Although stock price isn\u2019t everything\u2014Intel\u2019s market cap still dwarfs AMD\u2019s\u2014you can say it\u2019s been a terrible few days for Intel.
